The OAHN Swine Network has noticed a trend with the increase in PCV-2 cases over 2024.  It is unknown if PCV-2 type D or other types of this virus are playing a role in the detection of this pathogen. PCV-2 is even seen in herds that are vaccinated at full doses for PCV-2.  It is important to note that since PCV-2 vaccines were made available in 2008, they have been very effective in controlling clinical disease of PCV-2 in swine herds that are vaccinated. The network feels that something may have changed with this virus to cause the increase in detections and would like to further investigate into this by means of this project.
